France: Vocational training for visually impaired

Helping visually impaired adults accessing the professional market.

The professional integration and thus social inclusion of visually impaired or blind people continue to present challenges that are sometimes due to the absence of accompanying structures to support their employability.

Alter'massageTo address this issue and with a desire to support their local communities, Givaudan volunteers from French Givaudan sites (Argenteuil and Pomacle), have teamed up with a non-governmental organisation specialized in the professional integration of visually impaired people.

Through this collaboration visually impaired adults will be trained to the techniques of Amma massage and facilitation of well-being sessions. All the tools and teaching techniques are adapted to visually impaired people.

100 Givaudan volunteers are expected to participate in a training day organized to help the candidates apply their knowledge to real-life conditions.
