Argentina: Nourishing hope through constructing community kitchen
Support a disadvantaged neighbourhood in ‘Ingenieros Allan’ in getting access to healthier food by providing a hygienic and suitable space
In the heart of the disadvantaged neighborhood of Ingenieros Allan, Buenos Aires, we are supporting an initiative emerged several years ago , driven by the residents' desire to combat child malnutrition. What began as a simple effort to provide meals to hungry children has blossomed into a vital resource for the entire community, offering food to those in need.
Local volunteers, alongside various organizations, including private companies and food banks, rallied together to support this cause, donating food and resources. However, conditions from which the initiative operates in is an unfinished structure, lacking basic amenities like running water and electricity.
Recognizing the potential for greater impact, we support the initiative by constructing a proper infrastructure for food preparation and storage.
By providing a hygienic space for food preparation and improving access to sanitation—essential for 56% of the local population without running water—we hope the project will empower the community with healthier food options and better living conditions.
