Switzerland: supporting vulnerable individuals wellbeing

Enhancing wellbeing through nutrition, hygiene, and community engagement.

In Geneva, the Salvation Army provides essential support to vulnerable individuals, including low-income families, people experiencing homelessness, isolated people and migrants. Its Day Care centre offers access to meals, hygiene products, and a welcoming space for social connection and support.
Since 2023, we have been supporting this initiative to help strengthen access to essential services and improve day-to-day wellbeing.

Improving access to food and essential services

Through this collaboration, support is provided to help ensure regular access to nutritious meals and basic necessities. Fresh ingredients contribute to the preparation of daily meals, including soups and hot dishes, while food parcels are distributed to individuals and families in need.
Hygiene products are also made available, helping address essential needs and supporting dignity in daily life. This combined approach contributes to a more comprehensive response to the needs of beneficiaries.

Engaging volunteers and strengthening community support

Givaudan volunteers contribute regularly by supporting meal preparation and service, as well as participating in donation drives for food and hygiene items. They also help organise occasional activities that create opportunities for interaction and support within the centre, strengthening connections between volunteers and beneficiaries.
