Spain: Restoring the cistus’ habitat in Andalusia
Cistus is an aromatic and sun-loving blossom used in fragrance, which grows wild across the arid countryside of Andalusia. However, its natural habitat has been weakened by recurrent droughts and wildfires.

We are working together with local authorities to help the community strengthen the resilience of Andalusia’s ecosystem by nurturing a forest of 1,000 oak trees. This four-year initiative is the second of its kind with Andalusia’s government, and ongoing monitoring, landscape maintenance and care for the area will continue well beyond this period, supporting the restoration of the region’s natural environment.
