Hungary: Families in need

Food and basic supplies for disadvantaged families

The Hungarian Red Cross has provided help to families living in the region of Makó city in south-eastern Hungary for decades. This initiative, supported by Makó’s local authority, aims to provide assistance and relief in terms of food, clothing and basic supplies to families in need at specific times of the year such as beginning of the school year, Christmas and Easter.

Hungary: Families in need

As part of a partnership with the Red Cross, volunteers from the Givaudan Makó facility help to prepare and provide food packages containing sugar, milk, flour, cocoa, rice, oil, canned foods and other staples as well as clothing and other basic supplies.

“Given the focus on food ingredients and flavours at our Makó facility, it seemed natural for our employees together with the Givaudan Foundation to take part in this initiative around family nutrition, benefiting disadvantaged families living in the area.”

Mihály Karkas, Head of Operations, Givaudan Makó
